I read an entry a horse racing handicapping blog that posed the question, is horse racing animal cruelty? And I would say some men/women treat their dates and significant others cruelly. If you truly love the animal will you make it race and if you truly love a person will you manipulate, try to change, or make more insecure? Cruelty is not a term just for animals; it applies to how we treat each other.
Many seem to think if they love the opposite sex it involves sex. That is not necessarily true, perhaps they love sex. And in most sexual relationships there is a lot of cruelty whether physical, mental or emotional. They get caught up in the race trying to look good, compete for attention and for what?
To truly appreciate the opposite sex, your date or your lover you would not desire to put them through any anguish or pain. You would not pressure them into uncomfortable situations, manipulate or offer ultimatums. You would not ruin their reputations or relationships. You would not break them down or run them ragged.
Someone once told me to consider racehorses like professional athletes. Owners invest millions in the horses and they are well taken care of. In the game of dating make sure you find someone who treats you like a million bucks and takes care of you as if you were a champion. In that case the game of dating is well worth the effort.
